Intimacy with God
R60.00
INTIMACY with God is for every born again Christian, and must be as necessary for us as the air we breath and as the water we drink if we follow the example of David. In Psalm 42, verses land 2, David says, “As the deer pants for the streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” Intimacy with God is not an end in itself. It is a purposeful encounter with God. It is not just for personal enjoyment but so that some purpose of God can be served. Moses’ intimacy with God resulted in the writing of the Ten Commandments. Joshua’s intimacy led to the successful entry of Israelites into the Promised Land. A pastor’s intimacy with God will lead to seasonal messages and a church that is in step with God. When parents are intimate with God, their families can walk in the will of God just like Abraham. Abraham heard what God wanted his family to do and obeyed though it was difficult leaving his country and family. The ultimate purpose of having deeper fellowship and intimacy with God is to develop holiness, balanced maturity and disciplined discipleship. Intimacy with God capacitates one to be an able and ready agent to fulfil God’s purpose, plan and will in our personal lives, communities, country and the world where we live and most importantly the church.
